Anthony Kimble’s Fugitive Content has appointed former ITV Studios and NENT Group executive Merrily Ross as the financing and production outfit ramps up its efforts in unscripted.
Ross is to join the London-based firm on Sept. 1 as EVP of non-scripted content. In the role, she will work alongside Kimble to expand the company’s non-scripted slate. She will focus primarily on consultancy and development for producers, as well as distribution, copro and pre-sale strategies.
Most recently, Ross served as VP of formats at NENT Group where she worked with both UK-based and international producers to source and develop formats, including Red Arrow International’s Buying Blind and ITV Studio’s Love Island, for the group’s channels across Europe.
Prior to NENT, Ross was VP of format sales at ITV Studios with responsibility for the international launches of such programs as Come Dine with Me and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. She has also held a variety of positions over a 10-year period at ITV, BBC and Channel 5.
“Merrily is one of the leading lights in the international formats business and has the most incredible experience, gleaned from working in major companies and across some of the best known brands in the marketplace,” said Kimble in a statement.
