Writers & Directors

Bryerly Long
Director, Writer and SAG-Aftra Actress.
Fluent in French, Japanese, English, German and Spanish. Graduate of the University of Oxford (UK), UCLA Professional Programs in Screenwriting & Producing, and the Escola Superior de Cinema y Audiovisuals de Catalunya (Spain) Masters in Film Directing.
Long began her career in Japan and was the first actress in the world to star opposite a real android robot on stage and in the 2015 feature SAYONARA by Cannes-awarded director Koji Fukada, which she also produced.
Her short films have screened at New Filmmakers Los Angeles, New Filmmakers New York, New York Shorts International Film Festival, Durango Independent Film Festival, DC Shorts, Topaz Film Festival by Women in Film, and won awards at the Philip K Dick Film Festival and the Sherman Oaks Film Festival. Her feature scripts have placed in the ScreenCraft Feature Competition, Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition, CineStory, PAGE International Screenwriting Awards and the ScreenCraft Comedy Competition, and made the Red List on Coverfly.
Long is currently developing her first feature as a director.

Christiaan Olwagen
Christiaan Olwagen is a multiple award winning screenwriter and director, widely considered to be one of the most gifted and influential contributors to the creative community in Africa.
Prior to showrunning Koek his previous series, Recipes for Love and Murder, sold to more than 90 countries. He is a SAFTA and Silwerskerm winner known for his films Johnny is Nie Dood Nie, The Seagull, Kanarie, and Poppie Nongena. His film Kanarie was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film – Limited Release.
His awards currently include best screenplay, best director and best picture, for multiple films. He recently served as a director for the Natalie Dormer series, White Lies and is currently in post production for his upcoming Amazon Prime film, A Kind of Madness.

Etienne Fourie
Etienne Fourie is an award-winning South African writer and director known for Trompoppie (“Drummie”), Stiekyt (“Stick Out”), Die Windpomp (“The Windmill”), Dis Koue Kos, Skat (“Just Dessert, Dear”), Tydelik Terminaal (“Temporarily Terminal”), Liewe Kersfeesvader (“Dear Father Christmas”), Klein Karoo, and his critically acclaimed debut novel Man in die Maan (“Man in the Moon”).
In 2021, Etienne was awarded the SAFTA (South African Film and Television Awards) for Best Achievement in Directing TV Drama for Tydelik Terminaal, and nominated for Best Achievement in Writing TV Drama for Trompoppie at the 2024 SAFTAs. His films have competed at numerous prestigious international festivals, including the Rotterdam International Film Festival, Tallinn International Film Festival (PÖFF), Long Beach International Film Festival, etc.
Etienne’s upcoming projects include two novels, to be published by Penguin Random House (SA) and Puffin (UK & USA), both of which are being developed into international television series.

Lyndon Chapman
Lyndon Chapman is a queer writer, director, and actor from Margate, Kent. His debut short film Unnatural Deeds premiered at BFI Southbank, winning Best Live Action Film, and was nominated at the BIFA-qualifying Watersprite Film Festival.
In TV, he’s shadowed in an Apple TV+ writers’ room and ranked in the top 3% for BBC Writersroom and top 5% for the BBC Comedy Collective. His play Is the WiFi Good in Hell? – developed through Soho Theatre Writers’ Lab – was commissioned by Brixton House, enjoyed a sell-out run at Edinburgh Fringe 2024, and was named a Playbill Pick of the Fringe.
Lyndon’s work is sharp, surreal, and rooted in queer experience.

Tina Gharavi
Tina Gharavi is a Sundance and BAFTA-nominated writer/director and show-runner initially trained as a painter in the United States later studying cinema in France.
Fearless in her approach to storytelling, and unafraid to cross borders and disciplines, Gharavi is noted for innovative cross-platform work, often about outsiders, rebels and misfits, and has garnered the attention of the film industry through her acclaimed BAFTA-nominated feature, I Am Nasrine.
She has worked previously as a high-end TV director working on shows such as The Tunnel (Sky TV). She completed production on her first Netflix series in 2023, a docu-drama about the life of Cleopatra for Jada Pickett-Smith’s Westbrook and Nutopia. Gharavi is in development on her own episodic series set in the UK and Iceland as show-runner (with the producers of Fargo) in addition to further feature projects with the BFI and Film Four on subjects as wide as a Virginia Woolf adaptation to a biopic about an Iranian female poet.
She is currently in post-production on Night and Day her second feature starring Haley Bennett, Timothy Spall, Jennifer Saunders, Jack Whitehall, Sally Phillips, and Lily Allen.

Christopher Ciancimino
Christopher Ciancimino is a screenwriter, script editor and development consultant with over twenty years of experience in the film and television industry, both as a writer and executive. After graduating from NYU’s TISCH Film and Television program, Chris produced and wrote the debut feature adaptation of David Gilbert’s novel The Normals for Woodshed Entertainment, starring Bryan Greenberg, Jess Weixler and veteran indie filmmaker John Sayles. As co-founder of Woodshed Entertainment, Chris also produced Brief Interviews With Hideous Men, John Krasinski’s directorial debut with a cast including Julianne Nicholson, Timothy Hutton, Corey Stoll, Will Forte and Dominic Cooper.
Chris has since written feature films and television for multiple companies including two-time Oscar winning production company Portobello Productions, Ley Line Media, Impact X and Wayfarer. Recent credits include the upcoming sci-fi satire Squeeze Me with director Stephanie Wang-Breal, the WW2 D-Day biopic Wasn’t That A Time for Corcoran Literary, the Zimbabwean wine-tasting comedy Blind Ambition with co-writer Nathan Bryon, and the upcoming adaptations of The Smell of Apples with director John Trengiove and Unfeeling for director Salomon Lighthelm.
As a Script Editor/Series Editor, Chris has worked closely with seasoned writers on projects ranging from a biography of James Baldwin for Impact X and Wayfarer Media, the animated series Iyanu for Cartoon Network and the upcoming series Senza Filtri and La French Touch for Superbe Films.
Chris has also held multiple executive roles for film and television finance companies, most recently as Director of Creative Affairs for NY-based Closer Media, founded by entrepreneur Zhang Xin. He is a professor of screenwriting in NYU’s Graduate Film and Dramatic Writing Departments, and is a member of the WGA. Chris lives with his wife, cinematographer Kat Westergaard, and their two children in Brooklyn.

Daniel Fox
Daniel Fox is an actor who was born in Cape Town but now shares most of his time between New York and Los Angeles.
Since moving to the US after starring in the Emmy Award winning HBO mini-series, Generation Kill, he has worked in varied projects from major studio films to small independents and theatrical productions. He has starred in major series such as Invasion for Apple TV+ and City on a Hill for Showtime. He has appeared in films such as Safe House with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds and Eye In The Sky with Helen Mirren and Aaron Paul, directed by Oscar winning director Gavin Hood.
Fascinated by craft, character development and the human condition, Daniel comes from the stage and is endlessly inspired by the theater, the art and the diverse cultures of the cities he lives and works in.

Daniel Schultz
Daniel Schultz is a South African-born actor, and emerging as a dynamic talent in film and television.
With a growing body of work, he has brought compelling characters to life on screen. Most recently, he starred in the globally aired, critically acclaimed crime thriller series White Lies alongside Nathalie Dormer. The series was one of the highest rated originals on Showmax and has since been sold internationally and been acquired by Channel Four in the UK and Sundance Channel in the USA.
As he continues to build his career, Daniel remains an exciting new talent to watch.

Sam Benjamin
A graduate of Drama Studio London, Sam Benjamin is a rising British actor working on both sides of the Pond.
He plays a lead role in The Pay Day on Starz, is known for The War of the Worlds opposite Eleanor Tomlinson, has played multiple characters in the Doctor Who universe and also appeared in Peaky Blinders.
He was taught Shakespeare under the tutelage of Patrick Stewart and John Britton after being hand picked to join the National Student Drama Festival Ensemble. His character in Lionsgate action movie I Am Vengeance: Retaliation received great notices, including a Variety review that calls for a spin-off movie following Sam’s maverick black ops recruit ‘Shapiro’.
A recipient of New York and LA Film Awards, Sam also wrote and starred in The Few & Double Cross and has just completed his directorial debut with the pro wrestling drama short Screwjob. Sam starred as ‘Young Jack’ in BAFTA winning BBC series Old Jack’s Boat alongside Freema Agyeman, and also starred in Little Crackers playing the brother of John Bishop. Also a skilled screenwriter, his sophomore screenwriting venture Double Cross also starring Kyla Frye (Edge of Tomorrow) made Official Selection at the British Urban Film Festival and SOUL Connect BFI Festival.
He won the ‘Best Script Award’ at the BBC sponsored British Urban Film Festival Awards 2016 for his original TV drama script Liverpool 81.
